Overview#

This page provides an introduction to the Terna3D app, explaining the most commonly used features, menus and buttons. The aim of this page is to get you familiar with the application's interface. After reading this page, you should be able to navigate the app and use it for your use case.

Interface#

When you first open the app, you will be greeted by the run screen. The run screen has various panels of which most can be customized to your preference. The run screen consists of the following panels:

1. Info bar#

Info bar

The Info bar provides insights into various widgets with information about the machine and its surroundings. You can expect to find information such as:

  • Bucket's height above the ground.
  • Compass based on the GNSS heading.
  • Angle of the tilt rotator.

There are a few default pages with different layouts of widgets for different use cases. Swipe the info bar to the left and right to navigate through its pages.

2. View layout#

The View layout is the part of the app covering most of the screen. Here you can see multiple types of visualizations of the work currently being done.

3. Action bar#

The Action bar provides a list of commonly used actions that you will often interact with.

The buttons on the left side of the Action bar are fully customizable through the layout editor, where buttons can be added, removed and reordered to your preference. There is no restriction to the amount of actions buttons that can be placed here. If all the action button does not fit on the action bar, you can scroll left or right to see more actions.

This is the default layout for the action bar:

1 Toggle plane/slope Toggle a temporary reference plane, set at an arbitrary height.
2 Add point Add a point to the project under an arbitrary layer, this can be used for as-built points.
3 Lock horizontal reference Lock and unlock the current horizontal reference.
4 Lock vertical reference Lock and unlock the current vertical reference.
5 Height offset Apply or disable a height offset to currently referenced object.
6 Change active tool point Cycle between the available tool points, which is usually left, center and right.
7 Layout editor Enable the Layout Editor to edit the action bar and view layout.
8 Project overview Opens the project overview screen which contains all the objects and files of the current project.
9 Main menu Enable the Main Menu to access the Garage, Machines, Projects, Support, and Settings.
